Dear Parents and Carers,

As the weeks fly by and we approach the end of another school year, please may I remind you of a few important matters.

Estyn Inspection

Firstly, many thanks to everyone – children, parents, staff and Governors – who responded to the recent Estyn Inspectors in such a positive manner.  We are delighted with the outcomes and look forward to the report which will be published in early September.

          Afternoon for families         :        2.00

Everyone welcome!

Please let us know if you have difficulty with the afternoon.  I’m sure we can accommodate a few in the morning.

Sports Day – Tuesday 6th July

12.30                              Nursery / Infants

1.30                                  Juniors

Morning Nursery will end at 11.30 so that everyone can come back by 12.30 if you wish to.  Afternoon Nursery parents are very welcome to come along also and you will be free to have the children with you, or they can be with Nursery staff.

Please pick up a chair from the playground on your way to the field or bring your own and remember there will be parking available on the lower field via Penscynor Lane.

Summer Disco / Barbecue / Fun Event

Everyone is Welcome

Tickets £1 for children, adults free of charge

This will take place on Thursday 15th July to begin at 6.00 p.m.  We have been given a superb first raffle prize of a family package by the Glamorgan Health & Racquet Club for the event and we should be very grateful for any small raffle prizes you are able to donate.

If you would like a stall please let Mr Quin know, all we ask is a small donation of £5 for school.

Crossing Patrol

Please will you note that Mrs Karen Thomas is not in work at the moment so we have no crossing patrol.  Please will you ensure that children are accompanied and many thanks to those of you who cross the road so carefully with your children.

Sunhats / Cream

Again the hot, sunny days are with us and a reminder please to have a sunhat and sun cream applied.  We always keep sun sprays in school in case you forget, but please let us know.

End of Year Reports

Reports and details of next year’s teachers will follow shortly and opportunity for you to respond if need be.

Rainbow Day

The last day of this school year will be Wednesday 21st July 2010.  This will be a Rainbow Day when children will be invited to wear brightly coloured clothes for a fun day.

Wednesday 1st September will be a staff training day.  Autumn term 2010 will begin for pupils on Thursday 2nd September.

Again, I cannot stress too greatly the importance of keeping in close contact with school.  Please come and see us regularly and contact me immediately with any queries or concerns you may have.  I will respond promptly.

Many thanks to you for all your support.

Yours sincerely,
